JAY LIND (director)

Jay Lind was born in the later part of the last Ice Age, Oct 4 1958 in Salisbury, a Small town on Maryland's Eastern Shore, Conveniently located in the middle of nowhere. He attended James M. Bennett High School where he participated in the Arts and Theatre programs, graduating as a National Merit Scholar. Jay Then attended Salisbury State College (Now Salisbury University) studying Fine Art, Theatre, Film and Psychology. After College, and at loose ends, Jay joined the military, intending to study Combat Film Photography. It was during Basic Training that he was approached with the opportunity to attend the US Army Intelligence Center and School at Ft Huachuca AZ, where he became a Counter Intelligence Agent, serving in Europe and the Carribean and earning a number of decorations for honor and courage beyond the call of duty. After his discharge due to injury, Jay stayed in Germany for a number of years and became involved in the Avant-garde Arts and Film scene. Upon returning to the United States, Jay settled in NYC and found work in off-Broadway theatre as a writer and a director. It wasn't long before he turned to film, producing his first professional movie "Sangre Songes" in 1991. Jay has been married three times, the last time being to Scream Queen Maria Pechukas, and has two children, Justin and Amanda, whom he considers his only achievement of any value.
